Daniel Medvedev

At first, Daniil Medvedev currently occupies number 5 in the ATP ranking, having his best career position reached in February this year, when he was number 1 in the world. After a performance far below expectations in the first half of the current season, his favorite surface, the hard floor, made the Russian's disastrous directions rise again in the second half, achieving a series of relevant appearances. In his most recent arrivals, he managed to advance to the ATP 500 semifinals in Astana, where he was defeated by Djokovic when he declared forfeit in the final set due to injury. In the following competition, he raised his level even further. He won the ATP 500 of Vienna for the first time in his career, beating Canadian Denis Shapovalov by 2 sets to 1 in a highly balanced game. Finally, he did not perform well in the ATP Masters 1000 from Paris and dropped in the first round to Alex de Minaur.

Andrey Rublev

On the other hand, Andrey Rublev currently occupies number 7 in the ATP ranking, reaching the best position of his career in September 2021, when he was number 5 in the world. Experiencing a great moment and one of the best seasons of his career, Rublev once again manages to be part of the select group of the 8 best tennis players and will again compete for the ATP Finals title in Turin with his opponents. Winning four titles throughout 2022, being them the ATP of Marseille, Dubai, Belgrade, and Gijon, respectively, the Russian was just one cup away from equaling the best mark of his career, which he reached when he won five relevant trophies in 2020. However, in the last two weeks, he did not perform well at the ATP 500 Vienna and ATP Masters 1000 Paris, being eliminated from the first in the opening round and the second in the second round, respectively.
